Weekly dental exams are offered free of charge for the grade school children. The exams are given by a local dentist who volunteers his time at the project.

There is a bakery on-site which provided bread for the project, donating any leftovers to a local orphanage. While still functional, the bakery hasn't been put to use recently due to lack of funding.

Several years ago, the project had a room dedicated to teaching textile skills, however, they ended up donating the equipment to a local group of women starting a textile co-op.

Oscar's wife Pilar and her sister Maria (both originally from Spain) are the directors of Amantani, an exceptionally well run orphanage in Cusco. Amantani provides food and housing to 75 homeless children and donates materials to several schools and orphanages in the surrounding area. Oscar and Pilar split time between an apartment above the shelter and their home near the project.
